What equipment is needed for virtual services?
Just a simple device.
You can use any device that can access the internet, has a camera and has a microphone such as a desktop computer, laptop, tablet, phone or iPad. Some clients prefer to use noise-canceling headphones as well. We will train you how to use your device to access your services and make the most out of technology during our time together!
Candidacy: Who can Participate in Virtual Services?
Telehealth can be appropriate for all ages when a parent, caregiver or teacher is helping. We can train a helper (a.k.a. facilitator) to facilitate the sessions with children or adults with cognitive-communication deficits.
We can do family sessions, parent-directed training, caregiver-directed therapy and observations. Children and adults who can utilize the computer independently have great success during telehealth sessions or virtual education programs.
We always help you get started with a trial run a few minutes before your first session. If you aren't sure if telehealth is right for you, we can always give it a try and see how it goes. There are many strategies we can use to make the process easy and troubleshoot any barriers.
